To provide and implement an efficient, integrated and enterprise-wide health management system, capable of paperless communication, for one of the world's leading producers and providers of entertainment and information within a rigid time frame.
Requirements
The client required a user-friendly occupational health and safety software system to serve its doctors and nurses at the clinic level while providing the statistical, reporting and front-end input tools needed by Safety, Risk Management, Worker's Compensation and Return to Work groups. The systemhad to facilitate efficient, secure and pro-active information distribution while providing the tools for occupational health case management. Moreover, the company sought a software solution that could:

Solution
When the Fortune 100 company decided it needed to institute a more efficient, integrated and enterprise-wide health management system to integrate occupational health service providers, eliminating redundant data entry and increasing communication with internal customers, they turned to Medgate's Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) software solution.
Medgate worked closely with the client, from delivery to going-live, to provide this solution within the shortest timeframe possible. Consequently, the client went live with each module in swift succession, keeping well within its rigid timescale for implementation. Unparalled Success The scale and size of our client's operations tested the capability and resourcefulness of Medgate's software solution. The result: an unparalleled success. When entering the health clinic, an employee can swipe their identification card and have their health record automatically called up on the clinic's computer screen. Once the employee is checked into the health clinic, an e-mail notification is automatically sent to their supervisor. In some cases, managers have arrived at the health centre even before employees have been triaged by a nurse. Our client also receives a hands-free automatic HR system update every 24 hours, automatically assigning new employees to medical surveillance groups. Overall, this has made the process more efficient, while emphasizing support and care of employees at the same time. To-date, the client's clinic, powered by the Medgate system, has handled over 100,000 patients.
Innovative Solutions that save time The company has also used Medgate to automate the distribution of Duty Disposition Reports (DDR), which automatically populate the text of an Outlook email. It uses the same distribution lists as incident notifications and also forwards copies to Worker's Compensation and Return to Work teams. Without the phoning and faxing of DDR's, a previously time consuming task, nurses can now focus their time and resources on patient care and assume a proactive approach towards the health and well being of employees.
