United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees selects Medgates Occupational Health and Safety softwareFebruary 11, 2008
It is an honor to announce the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a new Medgate client. The UNHCR will be utilizing Medgate's Medical and Case Management Modules to monitor and report on the health of their employee base of over 6000.
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems world-wide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. In more than five decades, the agency has helped an estimated 50 million people restart their lives. Today, a staff of over 6,000 in 250 offices in 116 countries continues to help an estimated 34.4 million persons. About 85 per cent of their staff work in the field, 60 per cent of them in often difficult and dangerous non-family duty stations.
Medgate is pleased to begin this new relationship and looks forward to being the UNHCRs health and safety software partner for many years to come. The UNHCR joins Medgates growing list of global OH&S clients including partner world organizations the United Nations and the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).
