Medgate Improves EHS Process Management with New Management of Change Module

Medgate’s new Management of Change module allows users of its industry-leading EHS Data Management Platform to take control of the change management process. By effectively managing change within their EHS systems, Medgate clients can align with Process Safety Management regulation and other industry standards and improve compliance by reducing risk associated with change.

The Management of Change module is part of a major enhancement of Medgate’s Safety and Environmental Management Suites.

Users can define workflows and approval processes according to their specific requirements, giving the flexibility to manage enterprise-wide PSM requirements such as PSSRs (pre-startup safety reviews), change requests, chemical approvals, and more. The module includes the five most commonly used workflows pre-configured out of the box: Equipment, Process, Chemical, Personnel and Procedure change requests.

Management of Change leverages Medgate’s powerful Business Rule engine, an intuitive and highly visual swim lane view. There are up to 20 approver roles per type of change request to automatically populate approvers based on the type of change and location. Emails are sent to the relevant approver who can review, edit and approve as necessary.

The module ensures all changes are tracked and approved using the correct process, greatly reducing the risk, time and cost associated with change in the organization.

Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) functionality, change request submission via Portal, and module-specific actions to trigger a change request are targeted for February 2017.
