Case Management
Lengthy absences hurt you as much as the employee. But how much time off is fair and how much is not. How was the case handled start to finish? Medgate's powerful disability case management software gives you comprehensive case management with crisp detail and easy data manipulation. So patients get better quicker and back to work faster. Now you have something you didn't have before ... knowledge.
The Medgate Case Management (CM) Module provides a complete information management system for management of occupational and non-occupational (disability) cases.
The CM Module records the absence start; expected and actual return to work dates, and calculates total work hours lost. The Official Disability Guidelines® (ODG) from the Work Loss Data Institute (or Presley Reed MDA Guidelines) are integrated into this Module and permits the assessment of minimum and maximum disability durations by diagnoses/procedures. The module compares the disability duration guideline with the personal medical doctor guideline and the negotiated day by the case manager to provide return on investment information related to case management services.
In addition, the CM Module tracks restricted work details and calculates total restricted workdays. Unlimited medical conditions can be entered including start and end date and the provider that determined the diagnosis.
A To-Do List works in combination with activity tracking to capture a tickler list and to record a chronological history of all activity related to a case. This includes user-defined case activities and transaction dates, the names of providers, specific costs (where applicable), case notes and recall dates.
A series of standard and user defined reports are available including the time lost by employee, case type, provider, and department; differences between expected and actual return to work following an absence, showing actual work days saved; case return to work statistics compared to disability guidelines; and reports of case management activities including cost and time data.
Official Disability Guidelines
The Official Disability Guidelines® (ODG), from the Work Loss Data Institute are integrated into the Case Management module, which permits the assessment of disability durations by diagnoses/procedures. ODG is available in two options: with or without treatment guidelines.
