Clinical Testing

Clinical Testing gives users control of the definition of “test batteries” (or panels) and the individual test units (i.e. blood lead, cholesterol, glucose, LDL etc.) that are included in each test battery.  Clinical test results can be entered manually or through the direct transfer from the clinical laboratory using  the ASTM-HL7-88, 94Gamma Dyna Care or HL7 2.2 or 2.3 (standard protocols used by most laboratories).  As with other interfaces in the system, a data transfer log is created that can be viewed, edited and reprocessed in the event of an error in the transfer or records.  The system also captures historic laboratory reference values in addition to current (user-defined) ranges.

Test units are set up by category (hematology, urine, drug etc.) and by result format (i.e. y/n, numeric, text, and multiple choice), sex and age, and by low and high ranges for results.   Biological Exposure Indices (BEI) can be identified in the clinical test units for reporting and linkage with the Industrial Hygiene module.  Once created, laboratory test units are “batched” to form standard test batteries.  The sample record entry screen includes the date and time of the sample, type of sample taken, whether or not a fasting sample, test battery and laboratory used, and any comments.

Reports:

Comprehensive reports include trend analysis, delinquent reports and employee summary reports for all completed tests including current and laboratory ranges at the time of the test.  The system also displays all results for each employee for specific clinical tests in both tabular and graphic formats for immediate identification of clinical changes.
