Drug Testing
This module includes two major components: a randomization algorithm to select employees from pre-defined pools; and a test results component to store the results of random and non-random tests. Results can be entered manually or through the direct transfer from a clinical laboratory using either Labcorp, Medtox or ASTM standards.
Random Pool Generator:
Random drug pools are created through the base tables and include a user-defined pool ID, pool description, the user-defined percent (%) for drug and alcohol test per year, how often people are tested and how often the draws are done. Demographic parameters (i.e. job, department, division, location etc) can be used to define pools. The system also accommodates the addition or removal of employees from a pool on an ad hoc basis.
Once the pool is defined a draw can be created. The system will automatically display the number of employees to be tested this year and the number of employees to be included in the current draw. Test batteries are then assigned to the draw for drug and alcohol testing and the reason for the draw. The system will then sort through the list of eligible employees and randomly select employees to be included in the draw. .
Individual drug/alcohol tests for employees can also be entered. Information captured includes: sample date, time, type, test battery, laboratory and a positive results flag.
Detailed reports include a summary of test results, drug DOT report, drug pool employee reports and others.
